3 Ways To Forget About Your Ex Girlfriend

Throw Yourself into your Career

A cliche, I know, but it’s surprisingly effective. There’s no time like being single to forget about your ex girlfriend and really put forth your best effort in your job. You can stay late at the office, advancing your career, and not have to worry about being accused of sleeping around when you get home late.

Being single is also the best time to really realize what you want to do with your life. You don’t have to worry about making career changes that affect your relationship, and can be free to switch jobs or even move without worrying about repercussions with a significant other.

Of course, if you move, it will be more difficult to “accidentally” bump into your ex girlfriend at Starbucks, but that’s a sacrifice you may have to make.

Take A Trip Away From Where Your Ex Girlfriend Lives

dealing with relationship endingA vacation is a great way how to get over your ex girlfriend. Experiencing a new place and meeting new people is sure to make you forget about her, and you don’t have to worry about choosing a place she’ll like; your trip can be all about you.

Choose a place you’ve never been before, take some time off from work, and just enjoy relaxation in a new area. You’ll get over your ex girlfriend in no time, once you’re on a nude beach. If the young beach bunnies don’t push your ex girlfriend out of your mind, the overweight grandpas sure will.

Get a Makeover

Just don’t use the term ‘makeover’ when you’re talking to your guy friends. But seriously. Join a gym or start running around your neighborhood to get in shape. Get ripped and muscular. Go shopping and spice up your wardrobe with a couple new pieces to show off your new body.

Take a bus to a part of town you won’t see anyone you know and get a decent haircut for once. It really doesn’t matter what you do, just update your look to something newer and fresher; make little improvements to yourself that make you feel better about your appearance. Being confident is a surefire way how to get over your ex girlfriend.

Breakups hurt, and forgeting your ex girlfriend is hard, but feeling great about yourself and a new look means you’ll be ready to take on the world, or at least walk leave the house without gin on your breath. Your ex girlfriend will regret letting you go, but you’ve moved on already.

haha well even if you don’t get a makeover, becoming engrossed in a new hobby (or an existing one) is always a good way to keep your mind busy and therefore keep it off the ex!

I’ll admit…I cried like a baby for months when my ex girlfriend dumped me. Honestly, I saw it coming as every weekend when she would visit me in college (she graduated before me) we would get into some form of an argument. It was annoying, but I felt she was “the one” and decided to keep at it. I mean, Hollywood movies are made the way they are for a reason, right? You gotta be optimistic for that happy ending.

It took me forever, but I learned that’s not how real life is.

When she dropped the ball on me, I didn’t know how to react. I’ve never had to get over an ex before. It’s like time stopped moving and I was the only person left on earth. All my future dreams of marrying her and starting a family with her were shattered.

After I gave her space for a few months, I thought about taking her to a cooking class with me just as friends. She seemed to be excited about it, so I thought maybe we might be able to spark things up again.

    She bailed on me.

When my friends heard about this, they basically suggested those tips you wrote about above. I did take a trip away in France after graduation. It was such a relieving and rejuvenating feeling going away like that. Before then, I did not remember the last time I felt more like myself and free. That’s when I realized I had to go through a “makeover” as you mentioned haha.

So, while I was in France I got a facial and my eyebrows plucked, and decided to go for guys instead of girls…JUST KIDDING! When I got home from this awesome vacation, I worked my butt off – saw abs on my body for the first time since high school, found an awesome job at a financial firm, and saw myself in a different light.

Things were unreal. It wasn’t so hard to get over my ex girlfriend because I kept focusing on ME.

I actually ran into my ex girlfriend at a club in my city one night. We had a few drinks, one thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was in bed with her. Then I realized something…she didn’t really like me for who I was. She was really just falling for my new success.

What did I do then? I stopped what we were doing and walked towards the door. When she asked what I was doing, I said, “I’m gonna take a nap.” That was 8 months ago. Haven’t seen or talked to her since.
